Welcome to our newly created BLOG!

A warm welcome to everyone who visits this BLOG and learns more about our table tennis club @ Forthill. We are one of the biggest in the area and are very active and successful in many local competitions. Let us make this BLOG a valuable source of communication amongst our members and the envy of the D&DTTA! Please keep me up to date with any articles you would like published.

Last night we held our AGM and David Sim was re-elected as Club Chairperson and Ian Hunter as the Secretary/Treasurer. We aim this year to co-opt players on to a team selection committee before submitting our entries for the season ahead. If you wish to be part of this please let me know!

Congratulations to Paul McCabe who won our Club Singles Championship last night in a display of controlled attacking table tennis. Earlier in the season the very promising Kenny Beaton won the Club Junior Singles and the Junior Club Handicap. David Sim won the inaugural R L Forman Handicap competition.

Highlights of the past D&DTTA season are Thumpers gaining promotion to Division 1 as champions and Kenny Beaton winning the Div 2 averages. Missiles won the Stanley Doubles competition. The district prizegiving is to be at Forthill Sports Club on Friday 15th May and there are too many successes from Plebeians to mention on this inaugural posting - Plebeians had a very successful season! There will be a meal and a quiz at the 15th May event.

All members, especially junior members should note that Ward Road Gym is open on Monday and Friday evenings throughout the summer for practice, from 7-9pm for a cost of £3.

A date for your diary - Sunday 10th May - there is to be an OPEN DAY at Forthill Sports Club and it will be necessary for Plebeians players to be there that afternoon. Please make an effort to come along - I will be in touch though to remind you all!

Finally may I remind you that club shirts are still available at an excellent price of £10 in emerald green. We would like to see all Plebeians players in club colours.
